We are still here at Fradley Junction and as they say, every
picture tells a story.
We have however had a good time, meeting lots of interesting
folk, including a group of Americans over here from New Mexico, who like us got
marooned because of the flooded Trent. The guys were all engineers and the
girls were all teachers, hence the tee shirts and we have had the privilege to
get to know them.

On Thursday after a bit of banter with them got invited
round to play Mexican dominoes and spent an enjoyable couple of hours with
them. Poor Wendy, she was a thinker and of course got the micky taken because
she was slow to take her turn. Comments like “any time today” and “before
breakfast will be fine”. Arlene was the noisy one and kept the laughing coming,
with David her partner (where did you sleep last night) keeping quiet and
helping me get to grips with the game. Al (jimbo) was Wendy’s other half just
sat and enjoyed the biscuits that Sally had made and simply supervised the
game. That leaves George and Carol, my is he quiet but very quick witted, and
Carol, she was quiet as well, but being sat next to me, what can you expect.
Unfortunately their holiday ended yesterday here at Fradley,
with George and Carol being collected by taxi to meet a train and heading for
Pembrokeshire in Wales to continue their holiday there (I guess still more rain
then guys).
Al and Wendy are
heading into Germany to finish their holiday while Arlene and David head back
to the States. All leaving an invite for Sally and I to visit New Mexico in the
future (thanks guys), 365 days of sunshine, which one shall we choose?
