Saturday 30th July

Not to early a start as Alex and Hillary do like a lay in, and today we are making for Stainforth and a fishing tackle shop, yes me doing the shopping. One large lock and several lift bridges including an aqueduct over the river Don.

The New junction canal is the newest canal to have been built and is totally straight for its entire length of five miles.

The aqueduct almost at the end of the canal, before a left turn onto the Stainforth and Keadby canal, leading to the River Trent.

Moored up in Stainforth and off to the tackle shop, where I bought a new rod, real and some sundry angling supplies before returning to the boat and a little fishing. My new rod is not new any more because of this little monster.
