What a great day spent with over 60 friends and family to celebrate our marriage.
The day started for me at around 06.30, and without any nerves at all with a few small jobs to do and waiting for my Best man "Karl" to arrive with his family. Also my grandson Adam and his young lady Sarah, Laine and Margi our friends from Hull, with my Mother already here to give a helping hand. I guess it was around mid day that the nerves set in as I began to get ready and make myself presentable for my future wife "Sally" and at 13.00 we set off for the church, to meet our guests.
It wasnt long before the church started to fill up with our friends and family, over 60 in all, and my joy started to build, waiting in anticipation for the arrival of the bride. I had a few emotional turns, but was kept in check by Karl, my son and best man, and then the music started. Sally, my bride had arrived, I turned to see her walking up the aisle with her brother Peter and best friend and Matron of honour Kate.
WOW, she looked so beautiful and I began to well up inside, "how proud I was". It was a great service, led by the Rev Irena Byron, and supported by my friend, the Rev Ian Hicks, with Lynwen playing the piano.
Marriage service completed, we signed the register with Karl and Peter as whitnessess.
It was then outside for a few photographs, and confettie before being whisked off to the reception by Chris (my new nephew). On arrival we met all of our guests before photos and our celebration meal at The Poachers Country Hotel which had been set out beautifully. Meal and speaches out of the way, we settled down for an evening of chatting and dancing.
Well done and thank you to the Poacher and all of their attentive staff!!!!!
