As you can guess the boat is now back at Willington on its winter mooring and we are now back at home for the winter. However on our return to Willington we spent a week preparing the boat for its winter rest which included re painting our war wounds from brushing the lock walls and touching other boats while moored or being in the locks together.
We have had a visit from John and Joan, the couple we met on our first year, and as they were visiting NR Derby we arranged for them to come over for the day.
We had a trip up to Stenson and stopped for lunch at the cafe, before returning to Willington and chatting till well after dark, with John and I doing a spot of fishing.
The next thing was to measure up for a Pullman dinette, and some doors to hide the electrics and our shoe and coat cupboard. This done we stripped out the crockery cupboard, lacquered the kitchen and TV unit before heading for home, that is after replacing the car battery which I had forgotten to disconnect before leaving it to stand for six months.
Oh yes we now have a regular fisherman on the empty pontoon next to our boat, a beautiful Kingfisher who make the most of the fry that hug the bank and hide under the woodwork.
