We left the mooring in Lincoln at 10.30, crossing the Brayford pool and heading for Marks and Spencer for some milk and a few bits.
Passing through what is called the Glory Hole or High bridge to moor up on the town wharf and let Sally shop.
Back from the shop it was off to Stamp End Lock on the eastern side of town, not far from where my Uncle Ken lives.
Mum let him know that we were there and he came to visit, but more of a surprise was that my Cousin Kenny came along to (a bit of an emotional reunion). They must have spent an hour with us running over all the news, before we pulled away and made for the lock.
Through the lock it was off down the Witham and heading for Bardney and thanks Kenny for your help with the lock.
Arriving at Bardney lock we filled up with water and did our usual chores before mooring up on the pontoon just outside the village.
Although Bardney is some 10 miles outside Lincoln, the Cathedral can still be seen sitting high on the hill and overlooking the county. Time for Socks to have a good run!!!
