Last dash to Streethay

Sunday, we left our mooring at Alrewas at 09.35, with only five locks ahead of us, still snowing, cold and windy. The locks came thick and fast and with us meeting a couple of other boaters the locks were set for us.

One lock done I decided to make a snow angel which caused a bit of hilarity, I have never done that before and Sally commented that it wasn't that good, poor me. Soon we were approaching Fradley Junction and it looked a lot different to our last visit, when we met our American friends (who I guess are sitting in sweltering heat).

The last three locks behind us we turned onto the Coventry Canal, negotiated the swing bridge and had a clean run down to Streethay. By now the wind was blowing the snow off the fields and drifts started to appear, and the bridges were dripping with icicles. A nice mug of hot tea and some toast which cheered us both up as we slowed to find the wharf and our mooring for the night.

At Streethay, you can see our boat was warm as the snow had melted
