During our stay in Ely, we had a couple of days walking
around and sightseeing and I have to say that it is a beautiful City, with its
cathedral and many old houses and streets. We spent some time looking around
the Cathedral and its antiquities and were amazed at all of its history and architecture,
before wandering off to find a café.
On the Sunday we had a visit from my Son Karl and daughter
in law Kim, who on this occasion came on their own, leaving the girls to fend
for themselves. We chatted and caught up on a few things (as well as watching
the flotilla on the Thames) while Sally prepared a wonderful Cottage Pie for
lunch. It seems that he is very busy with his work which does not leave too
much time for pleasure, shame about this work thing, we are pleased we don’t have
to do it anymore. Anyway lunch eaten and enjoyed it was time for them to head
off home for Karl’s appointment with work, so we walked back to the car with
them and said our goodbyes.
