This morning we were up with the lark, or should I say the bin men as they travelled the streets emptying the bins, but hey the sun was up and not a cloud in the sky, so who could ask for more. We had a good nights sleep, as we decided to keep Gypsy out of the bedroom from now on, so no pesky cats jumping all over us in the night.
Leaving the mooring we had just one bridge before Outwell and its basin turn and having some time before we set off I fitted a gel backed carpet in the cockpit in the hope that it would keep the engine noise down.
Having made the turn we headed out of the village into open countryside once again where the river cleared as Cristal, being able to see the fish and some big ones too. Sally took the helm for a while to give me a break and a chance to visit the loo as we journeyed through Nordelph on our way to Salters Load and the lock leading onto the Great Ouse.
We reached our destination and made contact with the lock keeper to arrange for our onward journey tomorrow, then just lazed around for the rest of the afternoon.
