21st May 2012

Would you believe it, we woke to glorious sunshine beaming in through the roof lite, what a good day was promised, and it was delivered (thanks weather man). Two whole days now since we had a fire, so we have not started the bags Ray and Janice brought for us, lets hope it lasts. However the forecast is for sun, sun, sun over the weekend, cant wait.

Time for us today to explore the the fenland town of March, so with Socks along for a walk off we set to look around. I have to say that He is now very good on the lead, walking close by my side and not tugging and pulling as he used to, its a pleasure to have him by my side. Earlier in the morning I took him for a walk and there were a couple of dog walkers with four dogs, so I let him off to have a run. The first thing he did was to pinch a ball and run, the other dogs tried to catch him but soon gave up the chase, one of the women said that they now had no need to exercise as Socks had done it for them.

The town was a very busy place with all of the shops you would expect in a major town so we had a good mooch around, with Sally treating herself to a new top.

After our walk it was back to the boat for a good read and to enjoy the warmth of the sun resting until Tony and Kate arrived for a meal. Sally had prepared a larger cottage pie and made an apple plate cake for afters. At around six the phone went as they had arrived in the town, and I walked down to meet them, but they gave me a good run around, first to the bridge and then to the library car park (thanks guys). Anyway back at the boat we had our meal and then sat down for a good chat, Sally and Kate, and me and Tony although we chatted mostly about cameras. It was a good night, but like all things good the time soon passed and it was time for them to leave (we must plan an overnight) but we will meet up again in Ely.

After a good day it wasn't long before we dropped off to a good nights sleep.
